Flash Photography Workshop Series at Vision Studios
Flash Photography Workshop Series at Vision Studios
This series of workshops with focus on the use of flash photography, gradually building from one flash to multiple flash set ups. We'll get your flash off your camera, expand your understanding of light, balancing ambient light with flash, using modifiers, and simply how to confidently repeat these results over and over.
A good understanding of your camera, exposure, white balance will be needed, as well as at least one flash and a trigger are required. We will be using Godox Flashes and Triggers during the workshop.

Vision Studios
Sunday Feb 15th 10am-6pm
This one-day, hands-on workshop focuses on the fundamentals of off-camera flash photography using a simple, repeatable one-light setup. You’ll learn how to confidently get your flash off the camera and start shaping light with intention instead of guesswork.
We’ll break down core concepts including:
* How flash works and how it interacts with ambient light
* Exposure and flash compensation
* Shutter drag and creative motion control
* Balancing flash with available light
* An overview of common light modifiers and essential flash gear
* How to build a reliable one-light setup for real-world photo shoots
By the end of the workshop, you’ll understand not just what settings to use—but why you’re using them—so you can confidently recreate these techniques on your own shoots.
What to Bring
Participants are asked to bring the following equipment:
* Camera (DSLR or mirrorless with full manual control)
* One small strobe or speedlight
* Flash transmitter / trigger compatible with your flash
* Fully charged batteries (camera + flash)
* Optional but recommended: notebook or phone for notes
NOTE: we will be using Godox gear during the workshop.
