I had the great opportunity to see Freeman Patterson lecture yesterday. One thing that he said rang true with what I tell my students, "it's not about how you shoot something, it's why you photograph it."
This is a vew that I see everyday. Hanna and I draw on these windows all the time. Today a light bulb went off. I had done some photos earlier last week of hearts Hanna and I had drawn on the window. It was the sketch that later lead to this photograph. I wouldn't necessarily say it's more refined, but I would say that it has better intention and bit of playfulness.
